Hi. My name is Emily Allen and I'm an experience designer who strongly believes that technology should be used and designed to address human needs. My passion in experience design exists because the field allows me to explore difficult problems and work to develop creative solutions that are beneficial to society. I am currently a second year Human-Computer Interaction design master's student at Indiana University. I became interested in design because of its complexity, its ability to affect change, and its strong relationship to Psychology. Further, I am fascinated with the implications design has on behavior change and how technology can engage human emotions during the interaction process. I am originally from Bloomington, MN, south of the Twin Cities. I graduated cum laude from Gustavus Adolphus College, a small liberal arts college, in 2008 with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Management. On the more personal side, I love to cook, eat, read, learn new things, watch movies, video games, play the harp, and play racquetball. |
